Took my LGV Class C+E driving test today (or, as most people know it, HGV Class 1), following a week’s training around Northampton.
Unfortunately, I messed up my reversing exercise, which is one of the first things you do at the test station, when I hit the cone you’re supposed to back up around.
At the time, I was gutted and requested a test stop. In retrospect, I should have continued with the test for the sake of experience, but I was not in a good frame of mind at the time and to be honest, I was sick of Northampton by today.
At least I’ve got the training out of the way now, so I feel a little less stressed. It’s funny, but eight hours’ driving a day for five days under constant supervision really takes it out of you.
Nevertheless, at least the training’s out of the way – now I’ve just got to pass the damn test!
Test

Sorry to hear about you messing up the test. Better luck next time. Probably made it harder doing the test at the end of a hard week.

Re: Test
Thanks, Dave.
Yeah, I slept well last night.
Sorry to hear that, mate. Best of luck for next time.
